Hello! I’ve been quiet the last month, but that’s only because I’ve been working on a project that I’m really excited about.
I perform a lot of live comedy when I’m not clacking away at my keyboard. I also like to see a lot of comedy shows. But in all my encounters with theater websites, either purchasing tickets as a patron or managing them as a producer, I’ve never had a really great experience. So, I decided to build something to help solve that.
I’d like to introduce you to Fourth Wall Tickets, a ticket platform built specifically for comedy theaters! The name was inspired by the theater phrase “breaking the fourth wall”, which is when an actor on stage acknowledges the audience. Seemed like a fitting theme for a theater ticket platform.
Here’s a little screenshot of the landing page I designed and built:
There is still a lot of work left to be done, but the foundation has been laid and I’m making great progress. I’ve also been talking to a number of theaters who are all A) extremely helpful with feedback and suggestions (thank you!) and B) excited to eventually use a better platform.
If you’re interested, or know of someone who might be interested in a platform like this, pass along my contact information! I’d love to discuss things more with them.
Outside of Programming
When I’m not programming or performing, I’ve been watching a lot of video essays on different things. Lately it’s been about analyzing scenes from movies and TV. Here are two of my recent favorites:
Also my mom just signed up for my newsletter, so an obligatory “Hi Mom”!
